RE: Ohio Rallies 2008

Just thot I'd provide the evidence that my head is totally empty. The picture was a 3D CAT scan of my lower skull and neck taken yesterday. The view is from top down.
They started approx an inch above the neck and worked down my neck. The computer removes most of the soft tissue thence no brain, neck muscles, etc. What you get is an empty head!
Duane,
I didn't get a chance to see the image before it was removed...
I'm assuming both show the same thing... just empty-space?

RE: Ohio Rally O.S.U./Penn.S.U. Tailgate Rally - 10/24-10/26

I got one question...is this the Halloween Rally too? If so there may be some ghosts and goblins at the game. That might be cool to watch the game in costume. :E
Fred,
How would we tell the difference?

RE: Ohio Rallies 2008

Larry/Linda,
OK… after sitting on the sidelines for awhile I’ll chime in.
I am having arthroscopic knee surgery on October 28, 2008. I too have a torn meniscus in the left knee. Several times over the past two years where I’ve done something (though I’m not entirely sure what) suddenly a pain like someone twisted my leg off at the knee shot up my leg. I have physically gone down to the ground. The pain has been so severe that I cannot put any weight on my knee to walk. I must hop with support to get to a comfortable and safe place.
Once I get settled and sitting down (with leg elevated) after about 30 minutes to an hour I can put weight on it and hobble around. In about 2 hours, I slowly limp around (like Amos McCoy) with a little pain. I also have a few restless nights of dull pain when trying to sleep. The best medication for my pain is Ibuprofen (or similar) taken when needed (mornings and before bed). As time passes it feels better with each passing day. Eventually the pain is completely gone. I walk and feel fine. Until I do whatever it is that sets it off again and down I go again.
Contacted an orthopedic surgeon.
I did get a steroid (Cortisone) shot into the knee (skinny needle, no pain) from my orthopedic surgeon with the understanding that it could “possible” help the meniscus heal, reduce the frequency of occurrence and pain. After about two months… down I went again just like before. Back I go to the Doctor.
As my surgeon said to me… “There are three options; Do nothing and take Ibuprofen when it does occur again, try another steroid shot, arthroscopic surgery to repair the damaged meniscus.”
I’ll let you know how my surgery went after next month.
Linda, good luck with your doctor and your choices of treatment.
Jim

RE: 1st Annual Bike ‘n Hike OH Rally Maumee Bay SP Sept 26-28

Hahaha - I'm going to have to do a better job of 'living right' :)
The spider bite is interesting, it changes every few hours. When I first saw it, it was the size of a freckle, flat, and black. Today it is a raised blister about 1/4 inch in diameter, red with a black center. It is only slightly itchy with minimal redness around the blister. :h
I don't mean to be overly concerned... should you have a Doc check out that arachnid bite?

RE: 1st Annual Bike ‘n Hike OH Rally Maumee Bay SP Sept 26-28

My grandmother passed away last night. We are flying down to Georgia today. I'm still planning on making the rally but that could change. I'm sure everyone will understand. I will try to keep everyone updated.
Mell, so sorry to hear about your grandmother. Grandmothers are very special.
Don't worry about the rally.
Everyone understands your loss and don't worry about things back home.
Add my condolences too.

Thought I'd post this here also.
Wanted to thank Jim and Carol for their hospitality last night. We finished up the rally host signs. Thanks go out to Roger and Cindy for their diligence in making the signs. I'm not sure people know that you're the sign maker. Thanks again.
Boy oh boy does Jim have a clock (and time piece :b) collection!!!! It is something to see! Thank you again for opening your house to us on such short notice. Good times. (pun intended) Good friends.
It was great fun. Glad you all came over. You are welcome any TIME.
The invitation is extended to one an all in our Ohio Rally family. If you have the TIME, give us a call and stop in.
Remember at our house.. There is always TIME for frields and clocks.

...we could enjoy some tick talk...
If you’d like a glass of cheer and some friendly toc… stop by most anyTIME.
...what kind of cheer, I wouldn't want to get too wound up....
MOOOOAAAANNNNNNN!!!!!
I would like to continue with these puns(?) but compared to the master, I am virtually unarmed. I surrender.
Believe me, I know when it’s TIME to stop
Aw, c'mon, you could always PM me.
I AM getting tired of this.
Oh Larry!!!
Just wait a SECOND and give them TIME to work it out!!!

WOW...I stared at that wacky alarm clock too long and went coo-coo!
I haven't been WATCHing this thread lately and it looks like I've missed all the fun!
Sheph, you need to take the TIME to keep up. :B:B
Mercy! I'm ALARMED the moderator puts up with this COO COO. You would think it would drive him ZULU.
It took me a while swinging back and forth ringing my HANDS in my decision if I wanted to get involved with this silly WORKS but I finally decided I'd CHIME in too!
After all, it takes less than a MINUTE to post a response!
Or a SECOND. :B
Oh My Gosh! One of my posts made it to the big time. I wish to thank each and everyone for taking the time to post their timely opinions, observations and ill conceived puns.
If however, there are those who wish to clean my clock for staring this whole thing… please take a moment and search back to its epoch. You will find that Steve actually started this ding-dong mess.
Sadly, it maybe high time that someone steps forward to ring the bell in the old clock tower sounding the mournful death toll to this, all to time consuming, post.
As I hear the old clock on my wall striking 13 o’clock, may I part with the words of a great American and perhaps one of the greatest horologist’s of our time…Grouch Marx who said; "Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana"

RE: Ohio Rally O.S.U./Penn.S.U. Tailgate Rally - 10/24-10/26

Short and sweet...
Lost power at 5:30 PM Sunday afternoon.
Lost Time Warner cable at 10:30 PM Sunday evening. (Who won the Cleveland vs Steelers game?)
I don't know if the phone went out... no one calls (except tele-marketors).
Still no power, still no cable and the phone still isn't ringing.
It's kind of nice and quiet at home in the evening.
Jim
If you have no cable than how did you post?
Steeler's won 10-6.
After I posted this morning at school, I went out and did a few errands. Upon my arrival home, while talking to hey Sharyl, my welcome candles in the windows were lit. YAHOO!! I've got power!! I got cable!! NA-NA-NA-NA. And no you can't Tp me for that!
Shhhhhh
Be Verwy, verwy qwiet... I'm at work. Shhhhhh

RE: 1st Annual Bike ‘n Hike OH Rally Maumee Bay SP Sept 26-28

What? You were feeding the fish? You were supposed to CATCH them!
Years ago (when my hair was black) I went fishing once in a rented 14-footer on Lake Eire with a friend. Our families were camping and Stan and I were on the lake at 8:00 AM right after breakfast.
He at one end of the boat fishing, me at the other. I’m sitting there when I noticed a bunch of small “O” floating by in the water. I asked, “Stan, what did you have for breakfast?”… Stan replies, “Cheerios. Why?”
Guess who was feeding the fishes that day? :p
Bonnie... it can happen to the best of us.

While you're playing hokie, I'm obviously working hard at my work place.
Really sorry I can't help with your home chores and I don't need a projection TV.
We are taking the grandson with us this weekend to the Mohican area for a weekend at Mohican Wilderness Campground. Never been there... looks nice on their internet website.
By the way... are you missing any long legged fowl? I found a new pink addition in my MH basement while I was stocking up on fire wood. I'm thinking it maybe a some sort of a homing flamingo.
Timber!
